Fact File

Shannon Elizabeth was born in Los Angeles and raised in Waco, Texas. In high school, she was a stand-out tennis player and considered turning pro. However, after being spotted by a music video producer, she decided to move from Texas to New York City to begin working for a top modeling agency. At just 18 years old, Shannon started traveling the world - flying to photo shoots in exotic locations like Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

While working as a model, Shannon eventually decided to move into acting. She appeared in several TV shows before catching her big break in the movie "American Pie." Since then, she has starred in more than 20 TV series and movies, including "That 70s Show," "Scary Movie," and "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back."

Winning the hearts of movie-goers everywhere wasn’t enough for Shannon, though; she decided that she also wanted to turn her winning ways to poker. She plays at many of the top Pro-Am poker tournaments around the country, and is a regular on the Las Vegas strip. Shannon notes, "I'm in Las Vegas two or three times a month these days, playing every other night sometimes... poker has become my second career." Whenever her "first career" isn’t getting in the way, Shannon is at work at the poker table. Her dedication to the game is why she’s on the short list of Hollywood’s best celebrity players.

Shannon has also gone the extra mile in raising poker’s public profile. She stars in two new poker movies in 2006 - "Deal" and "The Grand." Oddly enough, however, she doesn’t play a poker player in either one. But don’t be fooled by this - her tournament performance in 2006 has shown that her poker skills are a force to be reckoned with.

In January 2006, Shannon won the Caesar’s Palace New Year’s Eve Poker Tournament, besting top pros such as Mike Matusow and David Williams in order to win the lion’s share of a $120,000 prize pool. That same month, she finished fifth at the Full Tilt Poker No-Limit Hold ‘em Invitational in Utah, making it to the final table along with poker pros Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. At the 2006 WSOP, Shannon also cashed in a $1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em event.
