Tale of the tape

At the dawn of the Internet (10 years ago), traffic to and from Cindy Margolis' websites was constantly in a state of gridlock. Today, the only thing on the web that comes close in popularity is…well, poker. And with Pro-Am Poker Equalizer you get them both. Sitting with Cindy in the amateur camp is actor Jeremy Sisto. He played Billy in HBO's Six Feet Under, one of the creepiest characters in the series. And for a show about the mortuary business, that's saying a lot.

Jennifer Harman, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, and Phil Laak make up the pro camp. Harman and Lederer have been friends for years, and competition has always been a big part of their relationship. During the 200 World Series of Poker, Harman entered the Hold 'em Deuce to Seven Lowball event even though she never played the game before. "The Professor" gave her a few tips and Harman won. She was grateful for his tutelage but couldn't resist dangling her gold bracelet in front of him - especially since he'd been trying to win one for more than 10 years. Properly motivated, Lederer won his own bracelet a week later at Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament.

Ferguson, with has his long hair and cowboy hat, and Laak, with his hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses, are two of the most recognizable pros in the game - which is both good and bad. People on the street like to remind Ferguson that twice he's played in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, a battle-royale between 64 of the world's best players, and twice he's come in second. Laak, also one of the world's best players, can't dodge the fact that his girlfriend, actress Jennifer Tilly, has won WSOP gold and he hasn't.
